1812 Georgian Sterling Silver Pair Cased Pocket Watch by John Curtis London

Please note: I have added 28 large photos to the bottom of this listing to try and show the item in as much detail as possible so please take the time to view them all carefully. This is an antique Georgian sterling silver pair cased pocket watch. The outer case is plain in design with no pattern.

The inside has a small piece of material in the back to protect the back of the watch. It also has a piece of paper with the name W. Wright, Osmotherly handwritten on it along with "Stops at times". It is hallmarked under the material for London 1812 with maker's mark IG.

The push button of the outer case is a little worn and you just need to get your finger nails between the case to open it easier. The pocket watch itself is also plain with no pattern. The dial is white enamel with numbers at around the outer edge with really nice gold hand made - pierced hands. The dial is not named. The glass is NOT a bullseye and its fairly scuffed from use and age.

The movement has a nice protective cover on it and hinges out of the front. It is named John Curtis, London along with serial number 34835. The inside of the back of the case is also hallmarked for London 1812 with maker's mark IG. The balance staff is NOT broken and the balance moves as it should if it were ticking.

I have NOT tested this pocket watch to see if it works or how well it keeps time. Please see photographs provided for more details and visual confirmation of condition. Normal signs of age and use wear including some surface scuffs and minor impact marks.

The dial has some damage on the edge, especially near the 1-2 mark (some chipping and tiny cracks) The glass dome is also scuffed. The push button for the outer case is worn off. 58mm in diameter including the outer case. It weighs 155.9 g in total.

Scale is usually an English 1 penny coin which is 20mm in diameter which is just short of 7/8ths of an inch in diameter, or a universal Coke can, and we all know how big those are. In the title or description it means.

Condition which may have scuffs, scratches and damage. In relation to all my listings it does not mean " about fine ". I have used A/F for " as found " for 45 years.
