Gents Sterling Silver Fusee Lever Movement Pocket Watch 1906. An extremely clean example with white coloured dial, Black Roman numerals and black hour and minute hands. Second sub dial at 6 O'clock, which features Black Arabic numerals and a Black seconds hand. Fully hallmarked Silver case, very clean and crisp hallmarks.
Silver Hallmark for Birmingham date 1906. Case Maker's mark W.
S, relates to William Henry Sparrow, Spencer Street, Birmingham. Operating between 1902 and 1920, so an early piece. This particular maker's mark was registered March 1906. The condition of this watch is extremely good, take a look at the photo's. A must have for anyone's collection.
Extremely clean movement in good working order, no inscription on movement, so impossible to find a maker. Movement number 35985 is the only detail on the workings. Plain balance cock, and steel blued screws which show a sign of quality though. Engraved Solid silver case with very few surface scratches and scrapes, the condition of this case is very good for a watch which is nearly 116 years old. Coin edging in very good condition, a couple of marks but hardly worn.Rear case cover still has nearly all of the original engraving clearly visible, although there are a couple of marks and dings visible, nothing major or anything that detracts from overall good appearance (see photos). It must have been seldomly used to still be in this condition. A bonus of a blank cartouche... Just ready for the new owner's initial. Hinges all firm and working perfectly. Back case does need help to open as spring has got weak but again a minor problem. Bow of the watch is in excellent condition, very strong and hallmarked (worn and hard to read). A lovely timepiece to add to anyone's collection. Very good dial overall, slight chip at 1 o'clock but not visible when case is closed (check photos). White coloured dial with striking black roman numerals, bold black hands on the main watch face, with arabic and stroke numerals and a fine black hand in the sub-dial. Good clean glass with no visible marks or chips. Diameter: 5.5cm Height including bow: 7.5cm Depth: 1.8cm. All antique and vintage watches may need servicing even if they are in good running condition. Over time they may need to be cleaned, oiled, adjusted and or timed. Timing cannot be guaranteed and further adjustments may be necessary. While I research each watch as thoroughly as possible, attributing makers and dates is not an exact science and cannot be guaranteed.
