This is a rare pair cased verge watch by one of the most important watchmakers of the late eighteenth century, John Grant of Fleet Street, London. Numbered 3200 and dating from C. Example from this rare watchmaker with Sub second dial and Calendar dial. The original sterling silver pair cases measure 60 and 52mm in diameter. The outer case is stamped TC & RC with the Lion passant.

They are in excellent condition. The original enamel dial is in very good condition with only a very light hairline in the sub calendar dial. Mechanically, everything is there and the watch runs well although I have not serviced it.
